Life Fitness Helps Las Vegas Athletic Club Take Advantage of Growing Market

SCHILLER PARK, Ill., Nov. 10, 2008 – For many, Las Vegas represents glistening casinos, world-class shows, expansive shopping and miles of nightlife on The Strip. But the owners of Las Vegas Athletic Club saw something missing in a city that sees 40 million tourists per year -- a full-service fitness facility.  

In the early 1990s, tourism in Las Vegas was growing rapidly and people flooded the area to support the industry by working in hotels, casinos and other tourist establishments.  As the city’s population grew, Las Vegas Athletic Club opened its first fitness facility in the city center to serve the growing market. The 85,000-square-foot facility experienced immediate success and the owners began expanding the concept throughout its six locations in the Las Vegas area.

With the club’s success, the owners needed to ensure the cardio and strength equipment installed was durable and reliable enough to handle its 150,000 members and about 6,000 workouts a day. All of the fitness facilities feature more than 100 pieces of cardio equipment, two pools, multiple group exercise rooms, a women’s private gym and much more.
