Life Fitness enhances Cable Motion Series

Enhancements benefit both club owners and users

LAS VEGAS – March 23, 2004 – Life Fitness introduced new versions of its Cable Motion Multi-Jungles, Dual Adjustable Pulley and Cable Column at the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association convention today. The enhanced equipment includes features that benefit club owners and provide users with extensive workout variety.

Boasting a new, contemporary design with custom-shaped tubing and aesthetics similar to the Life Fitness’ Signature Series, the new units integrate well with the company’s other strength products. Each piece features Cable Motion Technology, which combines the simplicity of selectorized systems – users only have to set the weight pins before starting to lift – with the freedom of free weights, enabling exercisers to define their own paths of motion. Cable Motion Technology increases exercise variety and enables advanced strength training.

Multi-Jungles

The revamped Multi-Jungles are now custom-configurable, so facilities can arrange the stations to meet space requirements and their users’ needs. The Multi-Jungles consist of three tower platforms with eight different strength stations. Each station has its own weight stack so exercisers can work out independently. Available stations include Adjustable Cable Crossover, Adjustable Pulley, Dual Pulley Pulldown, Dual Pulley Row, Fixed Cable Crossover, Pulldown, Row and Triceps Pushdown.

Dual Adjustable Pulley

Requiring only 20 square feet of floor space, the Dual Adjustable Pulley provides more than 200 exercise options and is one of the most versatile strength-training machines available. With two weight stacks, one for each handle, the unit has a more consistent feel than those that use only one weight stack. A 1:4 weight stack resistance level means each weight stack travels just one-fourth the distance of the handle. This reduces inertia and allows for higher-speed movements, which is ideal for sport-specific training. The low starting resistance and small resistance increments enable users to increase loads gradually. The pulleys have 20 vertical adjustment positions, making it easy for users of all sizes to perform a wide variety of exercises.

The versatility of the Dual Adjustable Pulley lets personal trainers design more customized programs for fitness, rehabilitation, sport-specific, work-specific and functional training, as exercises can be performed from a standing position, or from a bench or exercise ball. Users who require a wheelchair also can conduct a wide variety of exercises on the machine.

An integrated storage rack and an accessory kit with eight handles and attachments come standard with the system.

Cable Column

The new Cable Column complements the Dual Adjustable Pulley, creating greater training variations. The unit’s design is optimized so a user can perform multiple exercises in a diverging path of motion. This is perfect for pulling movements and developing the latissimus dorsi, rear deltoids and rhomboids. An exerciser can use one handle (for 1:4 resistance) or both (1:2 resistance) for greater training flexibility. The Cable Column has two stabilization bars for lower-body movements. An accessory kit with storage rack is included.

Availability, Warranty and Price

Available now, the new Cable Motion pieces include a 10-year limited warranty on the structural frame (not coatings), five years on pulleys, weight plates and guide rods, one year on bearings, cables and grips, and 90 days on upholstery, springs and belts. Manufacturer’s suggested list prices for Multi-Jungles range from $4,599 to $11,999, depending on equipment configuration. The Dual Adjustable Pulley is $4,099, and the Cable Column is $2,899.
